How Were These Restaurants Selected?
I generally only recommend businesses where I have personally eaten a meal. However, there are few on this list, marked by an asterisk, that I have not personally vetted. Some, like Cooper’s Hawk, have are widely known for their gluten free options. Others are listed on Find Me Gluten Free, and I felt were worth mentioning.
There may be restaurants you recommend that are not on this list. Please feel free to mention them in the comments, along with information on how they prevent cross contact.

Just a warning for the Okemos noodles and company. We have 3 of us in the house that need to eat gluten free and we have stopped going to Noodles. We had several times where we ordered gluten free noodles and found regular mixed in towards the bottom. I’m sure it was by accident, it was always one or two noodles but that is more than enough to make us sick so we have stopped ordering from here. I just want to give a heads up to anyone wanting to go there to order with caution.
thanks for this feedback. I’ve actually gone to the one in E. Lansing near campus, but parking there is tricky so I listed the one in Okemos. I’ll consider taking it down.
Barrio in East Lansing was fantastic for GF dining! Our server was very knowledgeable, and our food was delicious!
So glad to hear you had a wonderful meal there.
Cask and Co., Jolly Pumpkin, Beggars Banquet and Taste of Thai all do a wonderful job!
Thanks for these recommendations. I’ll have to check out Cask and Co, as many people have mentioned it.
