<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Enjoying a breakfast sandwich becomes a bit more challenging when one can&#8217;t eat gluten or pork. Therefore, I&#8217;m sharing with you my own homemade recipe for gluen free chicken breakfast sausage patties. Enjoy them for breakfast, or prepare them for a wonderful &#8220;Brinner&#8221; spread.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="600" height="900" src="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chicken-sausage-update-english-muffins-on-cutting-board-edited-1.jpg" alt="Canyon Bakehouse Gluten Free English Muffins" class="wp-image-11643" srcset="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chicken-sausage-update-english-muffins-on-cutting-board-edited-1.jpg 600w, https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chicken-sausage-update-english-muffins-on-cutting-board-edited-1-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What Is Brinner? And Where Did you Get Those English Muffins?&nbsp;</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you&#8217;ve never heard this term before, it means &#8220;breakfast for dinner.&#8221; You can enjoy my gluten free chicken sausage as a side with <a title="Gluten Free Buckwheat Pancakes with Strawberry Sauce" href="https://miglutenfreegal.com/2018/03/30/gluten-free-buckwheat-pancakes/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">buckwheat pancakes</a> or my gluten free <a title="Gluten Free Blueberry French Toast Casserole" href="https://miglutenfreegal.com/2017/02/08/canyon-bakehouse-heritage-style/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Blueberry French Toast Casserole</a>. However, I enjoy them as part of a breakfast sandwich, preferably with Canyon Bakehouse&#8217;s Gluten Free English Muffins.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">These whole grain English muffins are shelf stable, and are gluten, dairy, nut and soy free. Use the Canyon store locator to <a href="https://canyonglutenfree.com/find-store/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">find them in a store near you</a>. Don&#8217;t eat grains? Try <a href="https://eatmikeys.com/products/original" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Mikey&#8217;s</a> grain free English Muffins, or Lila Ruth&#8217;s recipe for <a href="https://lilaruthgrainfree.com/grain-free-english-muffins/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Grain Free English Muffins</a>.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" width="600" height="900" src="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chicken-sausage-update-sausage-in-pan-1-1.jpg" alt="Gluten Free Chicken Sausage in Skillet" class="wp-image-11644" srcset="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chicken-sausage-update-sausage-in-pan-1-1.jpg 600w, https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chicken-sausage-update-sausage-in-pan-1-1-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure>
</div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What Ingredients Do You Use in Your Chicken Sausage?</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">That&#8217;s a great question. I make my gluten free chicken sausage with ground chicken, and <a href="https://www.penzeys.com/online-catalog/fox-point-seasoning/c-24/p-393/pd-s" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Penzey&#8217;s Fox Point seasoning</a>. This chicken sauage recipe also uses applesauce. Why?&nbsp; It gives it just a hint of sweet, while also tenderizing the meat.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Other than that, it&#8217;s simple salt, pepper and onion. When I originally made this recipe in 2017, I&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thespicehouse.com/products/lake-shore-drive-shallot-herb-seasoning" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">used this Lakeshore Drive Seasoning</a> I received in a subscription box. While it&#8217;s still available, I find myself shopping at Penzey&#8217;s more often. I love using their dried lemon and orange peel in baked goods!&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img decoding="async" width="600" height="900" src="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chicken-sausage-update-overhead-with-butter-dish-1-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-11645" srcset="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chicken-sausage-update-overhead-with-butter-dish-1-1.jpg 600w, https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chicken-sausage-update-overhead-with-butter-dish-1-1-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure>
</div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Tips on Frying the Perfect Egg</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">My gluten free sausage partners well with a fried egg for a delicious gluten free breakfast sandwich. When I&#8217;m in a hurry in the morning, I&#8217;ll often just crack an egg into a small dish, give a quick whisk with a fork, and cook it in a pan like an omelete. Add cheese or other spices as you please.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">However, if you want a fried egg, this method seems to work best for me. First, I oil and heat my 10&#8243; iron skillet. Usually on medium heat for 5 minutes. Then I crack the egg, add it to the pan, THEN turn down the heat. This way it cooks the egg white thoroughly, but doesn&#8217;t overcook it. Then I allow it to cook about 10 min. more until the whites are set. Visit The Incredible Egg site for more tips on <a href="https://www.incredibleegg.org/recipes/cooking-lessons/fry-eggs" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">how to fry an egg, perfectly</a>.&nbsp;</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Other Gluten Free Breakfast Ideas</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Breakfast foods are my most favorite type of food. My &#8220;<a href="https://miglutenfreegal.com/simple-gluten-free-breakfast-sandwich/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Easiest Breakfast Sandwich Ever</a>&#8221; recipe is great for meal prep. Pair it with any of these other <a href="https://miglutenfreegal.com/quick-gluten-free-breakfast-ideas/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">grab and go gluten free breakfast ideas</a> for quick start to the morning. Even if it&#8217;s just a bowl of <a href="https://miglutenfreegal.com/7-gluten-free-alternatives-to-cheerios/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">gluten free cereal</a>, it&#8217;s important to start the day with something in your tummy. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Looking for something more elaborate? Try my <a href="https://miglutenfreegal.com/canyon-bakehouse-gluten-free-giveaway/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">gluten free breakfast casserole for two</a>, or my <a href="https://miglutenfreegal.com/mashed-potato-crust-quiche/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">mashed potato crust quiche</a>. It sounds odd, but it&#8217;s truly amazing! Or, get creative and make my <a href="https://miglutenfreegal.com/gluten-free-pizza-crust-for-one-yeast-free/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">gluten free breakfast pizza</a>, made with a gluten free biscuit crust. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">There&#8217;s just something inherently fun about corn dogs. They make you think of summer carnivals, picnics, and bygone days of your youth. Not to mention that you are intended to eat them with your hands. How often do we get permission to do that?!?! Which makes these Foster Farms Gluten Free Honey Crunch Corn Dogs about the best childhood memory fulfillment ever.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Foster Farms Gluten Free Honey Crunch Corn Dogs</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I first discovered the <a href="https://www.fosterfarms.com/product/gluten-free-homey-crunchy-corn-dogs/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Foster Farms Gluten Free Honey Crunchy Corn Dogs</a> at my local Kroger store, back in 2014. Which is highly impressive, as I don&#8217;t live in a nice part of town. I SO wanted to try them. However, I don&#8217;t have children and knew if I bought them I&#8217;d quickly eat the whole 12 count box. Then I received &nbsp;an email from <a href="https://www.fosterfarms.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Foster Farms</a> wanting to know if I would like to review the Foster Farms Gluten Free Honey Crunch Corn Dogs. As in, we&#8217;ll send you a box for FREE.&nbsp; Well of course I said yes! That&#8217;s such a friendly thing for them to do!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-4428 size-full" src="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/kid-president-quotes-corn-dogs-1.jpg" alt="Foster Farms gluten free corn dogs Kid President" width="600" height="329" srcset="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/kid-president-quotes-corn-dogs-1.jpg 600w, https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/kid-president-quotes-corn-dogs-1-300x165.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></h2>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Made From Chicken, Not Pork</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Now it&#8217;s 2018 and I&#8217;m updating some of my old posts. Okay, let&#8217;s just be honest. I loved them so much I just wanted an excuse to buy more! One of the &#8220;bonuses&#8221; of these Foster Farms gluten free honey crunch corn dogs is that they really are leaner than regular ones. They are made from chicken instead of fatty pork. So I wanted to come up with some &#8220;healthier&#8221; side dishes to pair with these dogs. I really didn&#8217;t want to do potatoes, because that&#8217;s just more starch. So I chose to make a recipe for &#8220;<a href="https://www.2teaspoons.com/healthy-baked-carrot-fries/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Healthy Baked Carrot Fries</a>&#8221; I found on the Internet, from 2 Teaspoons.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="600" height="900" src="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Carrot-Fries-1.jpg" alt="Carrot Fries to accompany foster farms gluten free honey crunch corn dogs" class="wp-image-4419" srcset="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Carrot-Fries-1.jpg 600w, https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Carrot-Fries-1-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure>
</div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Carrot Fries????</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Can I just that these were AWESOME?! Your kiddo will have no idea they are eating carrots instead of sweet potatoes. You slice the carrots thin, toss them in a tiny bit of oil, then coat them with salt and a bit of garlic powder. Telling ya, this will CHANGE YOUR WORLD. I may never want to eat French Fries again! But I digress.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I also paired these Foster Farms&nbsp; gluten free honey crunch corn dogs with barbecued lentils (which cook quicker than beans) and short and sweet fruit kabobs. Some are successfully on spaghetti strands. Note, use fresh fruit, not frozen and thawed fruit, because it gets all soggy and makes the pasta break. I may or may not know this from personal experiences.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="600" height="900" src="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Foster-Farms-with-sides-overhead-1.jpg" alt="Overhead shot of foster farms gluten free honey crunch corn dogs with kid friendly sides" class="wp-image-4417" srcset="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Foster-Farms-with-sides-overhead-1.jpg 600w, https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Foster-Farms-with-sides-overhead-1-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure>
</div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Certified Gluten Free Corn Dogs</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Foster Farms gluten free corn dogs, Foster Farms corn dogs are the #1 selling corn dog in America. Their gluten-free corn dogs are certified by the Gluten Intolerance Group, contain less than 10ppm of gluten per serving, and they feature a 100% chicken frank dipped twice in a honey crunchy batter. (As my husband&#8217;s system is apparently intolerant to pork, this last fact was a major bonus!)&nbsp;Foster Farms Gluten Free Honey Crunch Corn Dogs are also certified by the American Humane Association for their poultry raising practices.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="600" height="900" src="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Foster-Farms-Corn-Dogs-with-sides-1.jpg" alt="You know you want a bite of these foster farms gluten free honey crunch corn dogs!" class="wp-image-4418" srcset="https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Foster-Farms-Corn-Dogs-with-sides-1.jpg 600w, https://miglutenfreegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Foster-Farms-Corn-Dogs-with-sides-1-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure>
</div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Where Can I Find Foster Farms Gluten Free Corn Dogs?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You can dip these Foster Farms&nbsp; gluten free honey crunch corn dogs in your favorite dipping sauce. Ketchup. Mustard. Barbecue Sauce. But seriously, they were so good, I don&#8217;t feel they need it. In addition, I was REALLY impressed with the breading! It was the perfect thickness and completely in tact. No falling apart like other gluten-free corn dog bites I&#8217;ve tried. It was firm but not dry and there was a perfect ratio of breading to hot dog. All in all, a big thumbs up.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So where can you find these amazing hand held delights? Foster Farms gluten free honey crunch corn dogs are available nationwide at many retailers. The list includes Safeway (Von&#8217;s, Randall&#8217;s. Tom Thumb), Kroger (Fry&#8217;s, Smith&#8217;s), Raley&#8217;s, Lucky, Albertsons, Giant Eagle, Woodman&#8217;s, Copps/Roundy&#8217;s, Schnuck&#8217;s, Food Lion, HyVee and Marsh. &nbsp;You can also call Foster Farms at 1-800-255-7227 for help finding a retailer near you.</p>
