I wondered that myself. I suppose you could make it in the oven in a small oven proof container/pan and then when it’s done crumble and moisten with frosting like cake pops are made. Then stuff into the mason jar and add frosting on top. Weekend project!!!

I have never tried that. From a quick internet search, it appears that mason jars aren’t safe to bake in.

And now you know! So glad I could provide some guidance. Like suggested in the article, don’t fill it more than half way. If you want to top with frosting and still screw on the lid, I’d fill it less than halfway.

You are SO welcome! I know the frustration I even feel as an adult knowing that I have to BYO anything to a party so I can eat safely. Can’t imagine what it would feel like for a kid. This way, what they have looks awesome AND is delicious!

We have 6 oz mason jars already & school is out this week! Time for my rising 4th grader to try a new recipe with me 🙂 Not sure what I like better, the small-batch-on-demand part or the built-in container.
