I would NOT attempt to turn those into a pie crust, unless you are making something savory. The focaccia mix already contains rosemary and basil. It would NOT mix well with cinnamon. If you need a dairy free pie recipe I would recommend seeking out someone who writes specifically about dairy free eating. For instance, I would recommend the blog Eating Gluten and Dairy Free. Or Allergy Free Alaska, or Allergy Awesomeness.

I have 2 packages of Chebe foccacia mix that I have never used. I wonder if I can turn one of those into a slab pie crust or regular pie crust. I guess I could add a spice like cinnamon or vanilla to make it taste like a pie crust. It's very hard to find any gluten free products where I live. I have to buy everything online, and sometimes it can be really expensive, like the Chebe cinnamon roll kit. I'm not even sure how I got the faccacia mix! My second question is do you think coconut milk evaporated milk would work the same? I am lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant and now rice intolerant too. It seems to be getting harder and harder for me to eat anything except my own food. Thank you for a very clever recipe!

Thank you so much for this feedback! It warms my heart to know that so many people liked it, especially the non gluten free eaters. It makes me smile when we can show the world that gluten free food tastes good, despite the negative comments it can get.

I left a comment a year ago and realized I never came back to say how AMAZING this was. It was SO delicious. Everyone LOVED this. Even the non GF family could not tell this was in fact GF. I could not wait to make this again so I made it for a neighborhood get together a few weeks ago. My neighbor said this was SO good she actually went back and took one of the two containers I brought. :) We are hosting our early Thanksgiving this upcoming Saturday and I can not wait to make this again. Thank you for such a tasty recipe!

the food processor is just for cutting the butter into the dough. If you have a handheld pastry cutter, you can do the same thing by hand.

I am so excited to try this for the first time on Friday. We are having our Thanksgiving on Saturday. I don't have a food processor but I do have something similar so I am hoping it comes out amazing!
