I LOVE chickpeas. Seriously, I don’t think there has ever been a way of consuming chickpeas that I haven’t liked. I love them on a salad. I love them in hummus, soup, and Indian masala. And don’t forget falafel! And I love them dry roasted too. Case in point – these Biena Chickpeas snacks. They’re delicious as a snack, toppings on salad, and even ground to create a flavorful breading for chicken!
I’m SO grateful that Biena Foods sent me an assortment of their flavored dried roasted chickpeas. I met the Biena team at the Chicago GFAF Expo. I originally wrote about these delicious snacks in 2015. The Biena Foods team was gracious enough to send me some more of their delicious snacks, so I could show you their new vibrant packaging and flavors. It’s hard to pick a favorite Biena chickpeas flavor. The Sea Salt is a nice crunchy alternative to peanuts. The Honey Roasted are sweet and savory at the same time. Oh, and the cinnamon crunch is so addictive!
Biena Chickpeas are more than just tasty. They’re full of fiber and protein to keep you powered through your next run or biking expedition. Each one ounce serving has 6 grams of protein and 6 grams of protein. I love adding these snacks to my lunch to add a boost of fiber to my day. These chickpeas are low in fat as well. In fact, each one ounce serving has “70% less fat than dry roasted peanuts.” Speaking of peanuts, these are great for a classroom snack, as they’re made in a nut-free facility, are gluten-free and dairy-free. Biena Chickpeas for everyone!
Biena Chickpeas currently come in 6 different flavors – Sea Salt, Honey Roasted, Cinnamon Crunch, Barbeque, Habanero and Rockin’ Ranch. They come in 5 oz and 1.2 oz packages. A big thank you to Biena Foods for providing me with these products. While Biena showered some roasted chickpea affection on me for free, my opinions are solely my own. 🙂
